I am 56 years old and for the first time in my life I am learning to eat healthy and lose weight. I have been seeing Kathy for about 9 months and I have lost 51 pounds. None of this would have been possible without the help of Kathy. She has boosted my self confidence and has showed me how to eat healthy at home and away from home. I thought I was doomed to a life of being over weight but with Kathy's help I will be able to reach my goal of losing 120 pounds by next year so I can go to my son's graduation and surprise him and show him the new and healthy me. I have been collaborating with Kathy since May of 2012. If it were not for her I would have given up on my goal to lose weight a long time ago. Kathy has given me tools and suggestions to use to help me achieve my goal. I have not had to change my diet drastically so it was an easier transition, but portion size was something I worked on. The biggest advice she has given me is to KEEP THE BODY MOVING…you hear that all the time even in commercials “ a body in motion stays in motion” and this is SO true! Don’t get me wrong it is not easy, but it does make life a lot easier when you can keep moving. Not only does your knees start thanking you, so does the family. You start to enjoy going places more because you don’t have to always find a place to sit; your stress is more under control since you work the anxiety out of your system; you sleep better and over all your health is better. I’ve always been one to say…”I don’t have the time”, so make the time. Yes it IS possible! I recently got a promotion so I walk during my lunch if I can and yes I get up at 4:45 am to work out before I go to work. When I get home I spend my time with my husband and my 4 year old son, it’s not as easy to work out then. Communication with your loved ones is also key. My husband will suggest we go take a walk after dinner or I get to dance with my son…anything goes…just KEEP MOVING.
I have been a client of Kathy's for 2 and a half years. She has helped me lose over 50 pounds and maintain that loss for over a year. She has helped me understand this is a process and a way of life so I do not get too optimistic nor too discouraged. My general health has improved greatly and my energy level is much higher. I am able to enjoy life so much more now. She is very positive and encouraging and does not feed me huge serving sizes of guilt.
